Personal Care
We provide sensitive, dignified personal care support tailored entirely to each individual. Each person lives in their own bedroom within our 4-bedroom home, with access to a shared bathroom. Our staff assist with intimate care needs while always respecting privacy, personal preferences, cultural needs, and individual routines. Each resident's bedroom is their private space — staff only enter with permission.
- ✓ Assistance with washing, bathing, and showering in the shared bathroom
- ✓ Support with dressing and grooming in the person's own bedroom
- ✓ Toileting support and continence management
- ✓ Assistance with eating and drinking where needed
- ✓ Oral and dental care support
- ✓ Skin care and pressure area management
Medication Support
Our trained staff follow NICE guidelines and strict protocols for safe medication management. All medication is stored securely in locked cabinets, administered by staff who have completed competency-based medication training, and recorded accurately on MAR (Medication Administration Record) charts. We work closely with GPs, pharmacists, and community health teams to ensure safe, effective medication management for every individual.
- ✓ Administration by trained staff, or prompting and supervision where appropriate
- ✓ Secure locked storage with regular audits and stock checks
- ✓ Accurate MAR chart recording after every administration
- ✓ Liaison with pharmacies, GPs, and prescribers
- ✓ PRN protocols with clear guidance on when-required medication
- ✓ Supporting self-medication skills where the individual is able
Daily Living Skills
We use the Active Support model to help each person develop and maintain practical skills for everyday life. This means providing just the right level of assistance — starting with a verbal prompt, then a gestural prompt, then physical guidance only if needed. Residents use the shared kitchen to prepare meals, manage their own laundry, and keep their home clean and comfortable. The goal is always to build confidence and independence, at each person's own pace.
- ✓ Meal planning, shopping, and cooking in the shared kitchen
- ✓ Cleaning, tidying, and maintaining their own bedroom and shared areas
- ✓ Laundry and clothes care
- ✓ Budgeting, managing money, and paying bills
- ✓ Graded assistance: verbal prompt → gestural prompt → physical guidance
- ✓ Shopping trips and using local services independently
Community Access & Social Activities
We believe that community inclusion is essential to a fulfilling life. Our support goes beyond the front door — we actively help individuals access education, employment, social activities, leisure, health and fitness, cultural events, and civic participation. Each person is supported to build real connections and take part in the wider world around them.
- ✓ Education courses, college, and training opportunities
- ✓ Employment support including volunteering and work placements
- ✓ Social activities, day trips, outings, and leisure pursuits
- ✓ Health and fitness activities, swimming, gym, walks
- ✓ Cultural activities, religious observance, and civic participation
- ✓ Building and maintaining friendships and relationships
Health & Wellbeing
Every person we support has a Health Action Plan that is regularly reviewed with them. We coordinate closely with GPs, community nurses, and specialist health teams to ensure each individual receives the healthcare they need. We prepare hospital passports so that important information travels with the person during any hospital visit, and we provide mental health support including crisis plans developed in partnership with the individual.
- ✓ Individual Health Action Plans reviewed regularly
- ✓ GP liaison, annual health checks, and specialist appointments
- ✓ Hospital passports for safe transitions into hospital care
- ✓ Mental health support and emotional wellbeing strategies
- ✓ Personal crisis plans developed with the individual
- ✓ Support with healthy eating, exercise, and lifestyle choices
Positive Behaviour Support
We understand that all behaviour is a form of communication. Our approach to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) focuses on understanding what a person is trying to express through their behaviour, and putting proactive strategies in place to meet those underlying needs. We always use the least restrictive approaches possible and work to improve quality of life, not simply to manage behaviour.
- ✓ Understanding behaviour as communication and unmet need
- ✓ Proactive strategies to prevent distress and crisis
- ✓ Least restrictive approaches at all times
- ✓ Functional assessments to identify triggers and patterns
- ✓ Active strategies to improve quality of life
- ✓ Staff trained in PBS, de-escalation, and person-centred approaches
Waking Night Support
Our waking night worker is present and awake throughout the night, providing continuous reassurance and support. This is not a sleep-in service — staff are alert and available all night to carry out welfare checks, assist with personal care, administer medication, and respond immediately to any emergency. Residents can rest easy knowing that trained support is always close by.
